Lieutenant Commander Francis J. Lamotte, the son of Mrs. Mary C. Lamotte of Red Bank New Jersey, Was graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1956. His first at sea tours were on board the destroyers Uss Badger (DD-657) and Uss bigelow (DD-947) where he was assigned varies duties. In 1959, he was assigned as Missile Officer in the Commissioning crew of Uss Dewey (DLG-14), and later served as Navigator and Weapons Officer. After a tour of duty at the Bureau of Naval Weapons as Terrier Missile Fleet Readiness Officer, he was assigned as Missile System Officer on the commissioning crew of the USS America (CVA-66). Lieutenant Commander Lamotte completed the Command and Staff Course at the U.S. Naval War just Prior to assignment as Prospective Executive Officer of the Julius A. Furer (DEG-6). | |
